For two decades, Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins<\/a> and fellow superstar Alexander Ovechkin\u00a0of the Washington Capitals\u00a0<\/a>have been part of arguably the greatest on-ice rivalry in NHL history.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Crosby is<\/span><\/a> expected to continue playing for at least one more campaign, but Ovechkin hinted<\/a> earlier this week that he could retire during the upcoming offseason. During a recent chat with Josh Yohe<\/a> of The Athletic, Crosby spoke openly about Ovechkin’s uncertain future.<\/p>\n “It\u2019s been on my mind quite a bit,” Crosby admitted. “I\u2019ve been thinking about him a lot, because I know it\u2019s something that has got to be on his mind constantly right now. When you get to a certain age, it\u2019s the way it is. Every player is going to have to deal with it at some point.”\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n While Crosby’s Penguins<\/a> will participate in the upcoming Stanley Cup Playoffs after securing a second-place finish in the Metropolitan Division\u00a0standings, the Capitals\u00a0<\/span>may<\/span><\/a>\u00a0need a hockey miracle to continue playing beyond the end of the regular season.
