A soccer goalkeeper has died after collapsing during a game in Sydney\u2019s Hills District.<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old fell to the ground mid-way through his match at the View Street grounds, the home of the West Pennant Hills Redbacks, in Sydney\u2019s northwest, around 2.30pm on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The Daily Telegraph <\/a>reports Superintendent Commander of Traffic and Highway Patrol operations Anthony Boyd and a teammate, understood to be a doctor, had both just finished a game on another field and rushed to help the keeper who was laying motionless on the edge of the penalty area.<\/p>\n

The pair then performed CPR for more than half an hour as they desperately tried to revive him.<\/p>\n

Paramedics arrived and continued the attempts to bring him back to life, but he could not be revived and he was pronounced dead. <\/p>\n

Teammates, children, and families there to support their loved ones could do nothing but watch on in horror.<\/p>\n

A report will be prepared for the coroner.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
