The 15-year-old came off a blistering 2025-26 season, as he amassed a century against all big oppositions and in all tournaments he played in, representing the Indian youth team or the B team, also winning the World Cup 2026 with a power-packed performance in the finals.<\/p>\n
Coming into this season of the IPL, a lot was expected from young Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, and he too did nothing wrong. He scored runs for RR and batted with a daring stride, dominating world-class bowlers with ease.<\/p>\n
However, after being dismissed for a duck by Praful Hinge against SRH, which cost RR the game, the batter looked more balanced and controlled with his approach as well as strokeplay against the Knight Riders.<\/p>\n
While all RR batters failed to score runs, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi top-scored at the top of the order with 46 runs off 28 balls, striking at 164.29, less than his usual scoring rate of over 225. He batted after the power play as well, stitching a promising first-wicket partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal.<\/p>\n
Sooryavanshi has emerged as a huge entertainer to cricket fans as well as several greats of the game. Many have wanted to see him in India colours, ignoring his youth and refusing to believe that early international exposure might cut short his prolific future as a cricketer.<\/p>\n

“When they [India selectors] feel is the right time for Sooryavanshi to get into the team, I’m sure he’ll be in the team. To forecast or predict that is not the right thing. Let’s just allow him to play cricket. He’s playing well, and is enjoying. If he keeps playing well, then he’ll make it to the Indian team,” said Vikram Rathour.<\/p>\n
After consecutive losses in the IPL, the Rajasthan Royals are now on the back foot with 8 points after 6 games. However, teams like Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans, who are now in the 5th and 6th positions in the points table, have the opportunity to level with their points tally.<\/p>\n
Gujarat Titans next play their home game against the table’s bottommost team, Mumbai Indians, while Delhi Capitals will clash with the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Either team winning might move into RR’s spot in the points table, and they might be out of the top four if both the Gujarat Titans and the Delhi Capitals win their upcoming games.<\/p>\n
