Brian Rolapp has addressed the possibility of players moving back from LIV Golf, saying the tour is looking at its options but isn\u2019t in a position to act yet.<\/p>\n
Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show Rolapp pointed out that most of those players are still under contract, which limits what can be done right now. Any move he suggested, would depend on when those situations change.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n \nThanks for the submission!\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/template><\/p>\n \u201cI think we’re thinking about it\u2026 we know that those guys are under contract, we\u2019ll respect that,\u201d he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n He also referred to how things played out earlier this year with Brooks Koepka<\/a>, who returned after getting out of his deal.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/template><\/p>\n \u201cBrooks came back onto the Tour because he made a phone call and said, \u2018I\u2019m out of my contract, I\u2019m ready to come back.\u2019 So, we\u2019ll react when we have an opportunity to react, but right now we\u2019re focused on making the PGA Tour better.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The conversation comes with LIV\u2019s situation still being discussed, especially after recent reports around the Public Investment Fund and its long term involvement. While nothing has been confirmed it has brought attention back to where players could land if things change.<\/p>\n Koepka\u2019s case remains the clearest example so far. He was able to return through the Tour\u2019s returning member route which applies to certain past champions. Patrick Reed has also left LIV and is working his way back though he is currently serving a suspension period.<\/p>\n There are still several big names on LIV including Bryson DeChambeau<\/a>, Tyrrell Hatton, Joaquin Niemann, Cameron Smith and Jon Rahm which keeps the question open.<\/p>\n Rolapp also acknowledged that the presence of the rival league has pushed the PGA Tour<\/a> to improve in certain areas with competition forcing a closer look at what works and what doesn\u2019t.<\/p>\n There has been no change to the schedule for this season. Scott O\u2019Neil told staff that the 2026 calendar will continue as planned pushing back on the recent reports around the league\u2019s finances. In his message he made it clear<\/a> there would be no disruption and that events will carry on as scheduled.<\/p>\n “I want to be crystal clear: Our season continues exactly as planned, uninterrupted and at full throttle,” O’Neil said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n That update came after a day of reports linking the Public Investment Fund to a possible rethink on its backing. There were also claims of senior figures being called in for meetings which added to the noise around the league.<\/p>\n For now, though, nothing has changed on the ground. The season is moving forward with events continuing as scheduled. The bigger questions are still there but at least for this year the plan remains in place.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
