A former AEW name just made their debut on the post-WrestleMania edition of WWE RAW. Now, fans on social media are debating whether the star in question, Ethan Page, was “fumbled” by the Tony Khan-led promotion.<\/p>\n
After cutting his teeth in the North American independent scene and performing across promotions including PWA, AIW, Ring of Honor, Evolve and Impact Wrestling among others, Ethan Page made his All Elite Wrestling debut in 2021 at that year’s Revolution pay-per-view. Despite his undeniable abilities on the microphone and inside the squared circle, “All Ego” never quite received a sustained push as a singles player in AEW, although he did have a brief solo run in ROH towards the end.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n <\/template><\/p>\n Page left AEW in May of 2024, and later that month made his WWE debut in NXT<\/a>. His run in the Stamford-based company’s developmental brand was markedly successful by contrast, as he held the NXT Title and the NXT North American Title there, and worked with the likes of Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans, Myles Borne, Tony D’Angelo and fellow former All Elite star, Ricky Saints. This week on Monday Night RAW after WrestleMania 42, Ethan made his main roster debut on the Red Brand<\/a>, defeating Je’Von Evans in singles action with some help from Rusev.<\/p>\n Fans have now logged on to X\/Twitter to debate whether Page was underutilized in All Elite Wrestling. While some agreed that AEW ought to have pushed the former Man of The Year properly, others argued that he had always been better suited for WWE’s style of sports entertainment based programming. One fan even suggested that the Canadian’s similarities to MJF as an on-screen character may have played a role behind his underwhelming tenure in the Jacksonville-based company.<\/p>\n Tony dropped the ball with Ethan, penta, Danhausen ( say what you want Danhausen was over with aew crowd)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Some folks just work better in one company than the other. It’s fine. Ethan is a fundamentally-solid yet unspectacular worker who presents himself well and is good at entertainment side of sports entertainment. That’s catnip for WWE, it was never going to get him that far in AEW<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n I tend to disagree with some of your AEW takes but I agree 1,000 percent with you on this. When he was in AEW, I felt he should have been used as a top heel on ROH to help push the brand<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n He was in NXT for like 2 years, so Im not sure Tony fumbled.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n I think it\u2019s because they already had MJF. Both guys are too similar tbh<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n It remains to be seen what lies next for Ethan Page on his main roster journey in WWE.<\/p>\n The last time Ethan Page was seen in action inside an All Elite Wrestling ring was on the December 9, 2023 edition of Saturday Night Collision<\/a>.
