Chelsea<\/a> are now plotting a move to sign Alex Scott from Bournemouth this summer, going head-to-head with Manchester United to sign the midfielder.<\/p>\n

The Blues look like they’re edging closer and closer back to square one under the BlueCo ownership. Once again, doubts are emerging over their manager’s long-term future, with Liam Rosenior the one at threat this time, and once again their recruitment has looked all too disappointing.<\/p>\n

For all the money they’ve spent, there’s every chance that the Blues miss out on Champions League football this season. It would be a monumental failure after recruiting so heavily in recent years. And it would also force them into the market yet again.<\/p>\n

This time, those at Stamford Bridge will be desperate to get things right and have already set their sights on some Premier League<\/a> names as a result.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the summer transfer window, the Blues are reportedly targeting Tottenham Hotspur’s Lucas Bergvall<\/a> and it’s becoming clear that the priority could be to find a replacement for Enzo Fernandez.<\/p>\n

The World Cup winner looks destined for the exit door after publicly flirting with the idea in the most recent international break, before Rosenior reacted by dropping the midfielder.<\/p>\n

Replacing a player of such calibre won’t be easy and Bergvall may not be the answer. Instead, the West London club could turn to the South Coast.<\/p>\n

According to Caught Offside, Chelsea are now plotting a move to sign Scott<\/a> from Bournemouth in a deal that would see them land an instant replacement for Fernandez.<\/p>\n

As Eli Junior Kroupi, Marcos Senesi and even Andoni Iraola himself continue to steal the headlines at Bournemouth, it’s worth taking note of Scott.<\/p>\n

The midfielder hasn’t always stolen the attention of potential suitors, but a recent England call-up combined with his consistency amid so much Bournemouth change has flipped that narrative. He’s now ready for a big move.<\/p>\n

“He had an excellent EUROs. He won the title and Lee was full of praise. He did an excellent job in midfield together with Elliot Anderson who is now a regular starter for us.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Although Scott was forced to settle for a place at home rather than the England camp in the most recent international break, he’s clearly rated highly by Thomas Tuchel.<\/p>\n

A move to a club of Chelsea’s stature could cement his place in the Three Lions camp and potentially more. When Bournemouth boss Iraola seeks a new challenge this summer, Scott should follow suit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
