Results showed Edwards avoided any ligament damage, but he will now miss time,” he tweeted.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n <\/p>\n <\/template><\/p>\n Edwards is diagnosed with a bone bruise and a hyperextension on his left knee. Charania did not mention a concrete return timeline, but fans can expect the Timberwolves star to be out for the rest of the first round series.<\/p>\n According to the Spike Hip & Knee Centre, a mild bone bruise typically takes about six to eight weeks to heal. The Timberwolves managed to pull through Game 4 without their star guard. Ayo Dosunmu stepped up to give the Timberwolves 43 points off the bench. Minnesota leads the series 3-1 following a 112-96 win over the Nuggets on Saturday.<\/p>\n Losing Anthony Edwards is a big blow to the Timberwolves, given that they had already lost Donte DiVincenzo to an Achilles injury earlier in Game 4. However, it should not be hard for Minnesota to close out the series without its star guard.<\/p>\n They looked fine without Edwards on the floor as Dosnmu took on the mantle of scoring responsibilities. He is averaging 22.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.0 assists against the Nuggets in this playoff series.<\/p>\n The Timberwolves’ depth has come in very handy for them as they stepped up their game in the absence of their star. Moreover, no team has come back from a 3-1 deficit except the 2016 Cavaliers. So, the Nuggets will have to prepare to make history if they want to advance to the next round.<\/p>\n The situation will become difficult for the Timberwolves in the second round if they have to face the San Antonio Spurs.
