It gets 10mm more travel front and rear, and yet the new CFR frameset still is 4% lighter, or 23% lighter than the last CF frame. Its headtube is now 2.5° slacker, seattube is 0.5° steeper, and its wheelbase is 43mm longer with 5mm longer chainstays.

The CFR frameset is also lighter. At 1480g, that’s 55g lighter than the 2022 CFR or 445g lighter than the 2022 CF frameset. And complete bikes are still as light at 9.82kg/21.6lb, even with longer travel, and all bikes coming stock with dropper posts now.

Plus, it’s more adjustable. A new flip-chip at the lower main pivot lets riders tweak anti-squat to tune the bike’s pedaling efficiency feel to individual rider preference, chainring size, or track style.

Lastly, the new Lux World Cup CFR is said to improve reliability based on a stiffer 3D-forged alloy rocker link and new circlip-secured bearings within the shock extension for greater bearing longevity.

Improved XC race kinematics

Canyon describes the new 110mm of rear travel as smoother and more consistent. The revised linkage-drive single pivot with flexing seatstays features a revised leverage ratio curve that is much flatter than the previous generation. The result is more consistent suspension progression throughout its slightly longer travel, allowing Canyon engineers to make the bike feel more active at sag without losing much in the way of pedaling efficiency. That more linear, decreasing leverage ratio allows a more plush suspension where the bike spends most of its time for improved rear wheel grip, especially on technical climbs, while retaining the same end stroke support that lets racers push the bike hard to its limits.

An ideal match combined with the newly slack 66° head angle, 5mm longer frame Reach, and 43mm longer wheelbases.

“Downhills are crucial — not just for speed, but for recovery.
