No side built a double-digit lead until the final minute, with Minnesota leaning heavily on its depth and home crowd to grind out the result.<\/p>\n<p>Jaden McDaniels delivered the defining performance of the night, finishing with 32 points and 10 rebounds while playing a key two-way role as the Timberwolves stepped up in the absence of their usual backcourt firepower.<\/p>\n<p>Minnesota were already without Anthony Edwards and Donte DiVincenzo, while Ayo Dosunmu was ruled out late with injury and Kyle Anderson sat due to illness. Stephen Maturen\/Getty Images\/AFP<\/span><span>Source: AFP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Denver were also undermanned, missing Aaron Gordon and Peyton Watson, but still pushed Minnesota deep into the fourth quarter before the game finally slipped away.<\/p>\n<p>Tempers briefly flared late when Nikola Joki\u0107 was involved in a fourth-quarter exchange after a screen with Jaylen Clark led to a brief scuffle, with Naz Reid also getting involved as officials stepped in to separate players.<\/p>\n<p>Jokic ended up on 28 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists, shooting 11-19 from the field in what will be an early off-season for the three-time MVP.<\/p>\n<p>In the end, Minnesota\u2019s composure and depth told when it mattered most, edging out a tense series-clinching win on their home floor.<\/p>\n<p>Jaden McDaniels addressed his earlier comments a week after saying, \u201cGo after Joki\u0107, Jamal, all the bad defenders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For the Nuggets, this marks their second first-round exit in the past eight seasons, highlighting a sharp fall from their championship-winning 2022-23 campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking after the game, Jokic said it was not his place to speculate on changes but added if they were in Serbia \u201cwe would all get fired\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><b>HAWKS ELMINATED AFTER AUSSIE STARS EJECTION<\/b><\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo lose the way we did, given the enthusiasm and support that we had from the people in this building\u2026 disappointed on a lot of levels.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Quin Snyder didn\u2019t hold back after the Atlanta Hawks\u2019 season came to a crashing end, suffering a 140\u201389 defeat to the New York Knicks that sealed a 4\u20132 series loss and a brutally early exit.<\/p>\n<p>The game was effectively over before half-time. New York piled on a record-breaking 83\u201336 lead at the break, the widest half-time margin in NBA playoff history, before stretching it even further on the way to a dominant win. The Hawks briefly led early, but things quickly fell apart as the Knicks took full control.<\/p>\n<p>The margin ballooned to as much as 61 points before New York emptied its bench in the final quarter. They now await the winner of the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers series.<\/p>\n<p>For Atlanta, frustration took over as the game slipped away.
