According to recent reports, the Magpies could be in for an even tougher summer this time around. Almost 12 months on from Isak’s record departure, Newcastle are facing the prospect of losing a number of stars as they head towards a season without European football.<\/p>\n

Among those who could leave is Sandro Tonali<\/a>. The midfielder has attracted the interest of Manchester United and is a player with the European pedigree that Newcastle will be in no position to match next season.<\/p>\n

Then there’s the curious case of Gordon. According to Romano, Gordon has a “really really serious” chance of leaving Newcastle<\/a> this summer, with Bayern Munich plotting a shock move.<\/p>\n

The winger has been one of Howe’s standout stars in a season full of disappointment. Losing him would be an undeniable blow as the Magpies continue to struggle.<\/p>\n

From a profit standpoint, those at St James’ Park could finally solve their PSR problems by cashing in on another star. And if that is to be Gordon, they could reportedly receive as much as \u00a375m if Bayern decide to match their price tag this summer.<\/p>\n

Newcastle are not in a strong position to negotiate. Financially, they need the profit to ease any PSR problems and on the pitch, they can no longer offer a Champions League place.<\/p>\n

That was their leg to stand on in the Isak saga last season. It’s why they held on for so long. That leg has now been swiped away ahead of Bayern’s pursuit of Gordon.<\/p>\n

More reports from Romano should spark further concern for Howe, too. The transfer reporter has claimed that Bayern have already commenced contact with Newcastle about a move for their impressive winger and have been in contact since February.<\/p>\n

It’s Groundhog Day for those in Tyneside, who could have no choice but to watch another star player leave. Given that they’ve already got so much work to do on the recruitment front after a disastrous 12 months, Gordon’s departure is the last thing Newcastle need.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
