Tottenham have picked up too many injuries over the past few years. In all honesty, it’s quite incredible; certainly, it beggars belief, and it’s not outrageous to claim that without so many setbacks, this side would never have come within a whiff of a relegation battle.<\/p>\n

In recent weeks, Tottenham have lost Xavi Simons and Dominic Solanke, the respective forwards falling at a critical moment in the campaign.<\/p>\n

That made the big win at Aston Villa all the more impressive, with Conor Gallagher finally growing into his skin as an all-action midfield leader and Richarlison harnessing his talismanic quality in the final third to consolidate the away side’s Herculean victory.<\/p>\n

Tottenham have so many injuries, but there are indeed signs of life in this squad. Some of the biggest strugglers are now, finally, putting in big shifts, with Spurs’ new Lucas Moura<\/a> among them.<\/p>\n

Lucas was never the most talented forward at Tottenham, but he is fondly remembered for several iconic moments and a tireless, high-energy workrate.<\/p>\n

Before Spurs, he played for Paris Saint-Germain, and in that, the Londoners have finally replaced the Brazilian with Randal Kolo Muani<\/a>, who is on loan from the French capital and has struggled for consistency across the campaign.<\/p>\n

However, now Kolo Muani is finally clicking into gear at the perfect moment, with his performance against Aston Villa evidence of a player who is embracing the fight, winning so many duels and showcasing his fleet footwork with a number of darting runs down the right channel.<\/p>\n

Having joined the club last summer, optimism was high, with Kolo Muani coming off the back of a productive loan spell in Italy with Juventus.<\/p>\n

But it hasn’t gone that way. He has struggled for much of the season, only scoring once in the Premier League.<\/p>\n

But he’s bouncing back now, and given that he will likely play a central role over the final few weeks (due to the outfit’s shortage of options), he may well be the new Lucas.<\/p>\n

Harry Kane<\/a>, it’s worth noting, was absent for that memorable comeback, and Moura stepped up in his absence, scoring not once or twice but thrice on one of the greatest nights in the club’s history.<\/p>\n

Now, with so many injured players putting De Zerbi’s Tottenham in deep bother, Kolo Muani is emerging as an unlikely source of inspiration, probably putting in his best performance of the season against Villa.<\/p>\n

He didn’t score or assist, but the France international impressed throughout the contest, showing that he can contribute toward the fightback against the danger zone at the foot of the Premier League table.<\/p>\n
