Preston North End<\/a> and Cardiff City<\/a> are now interested in signing Rotherham United star Denzel Hall in the summer transfer window.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Preston will be looking to kick on in the Championship<\/a> next season, after finishing 14th in the table, with a points tally of 60 meaning they were never in trouble of being relegated, but also 13 points adrift of the play-off places.<\/p>\n Cardiff, on the other hand, are gearing up for their first season back in the second tier, having secured automatic promotion from League One at the first attempt, with 91 points securing the Welsh side a second-place finish.<\/p>\n As such, there is plenty of cause for optimism at Cardiff, but the same cannot be said about Rotherham, who will be playing League Two football for the first time since the 2012-13 campaign next season, after finishing second-bottom in League One.<\/p>\n The Millers have been a yo-yo side between the Championship and League One over the past decade or so, but having been relegated to the fourth tier, it could be difficult to convince their top players to remain at the club beyond the summer.<\/p>\n According to a report from Football Insider, Rotherham are now willing to accept bids for Hall when the summer transfer window opens<\/a>, despite the right-back remaining under contract until 2028.<\/p>\n Cardiff are on alert to sign the 24-year-old, and the recently-promoted side are considering taking their interest further, having discovered he is set to be available.<\/p>\n There will be competition for the defender’s signature though, with Preston also keen, and there is a feeling they may have the edge over the Bluebirds, given that they are more established at Championship level.<\/p>\n Hall, who is capable of playing at right-back and cenrte-back, has been lauded as “superb” by scout Jacek Kulig<\/a>, and he made 27 appearances for Rotherham in League One last season, chipping in with three goals and two assists.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Paul Heckingbottom has confirmed that bringing in new options at full-back is on the agenda in the summer, but the Preston boss also wants to strengthen in other areas, provided he is given the resources.<\/p>\n When asked whether his full-back options are enough, Heckingbottom<\/a> said: \u201cNo, I want to improve. I want to improve everywhere. This is the name of the game and I’m not saying this is what’s happening with our group, but if we suddenly think there’s a fantastic loan we can bring in and he wants to come play for us, we have a decision then: do we move one of our players on?
