The Shubman Gill-led side climbed to the top of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 table with a stunning 82-run win after bowling out the opposition for just 86 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. <\/p>\n<p>Defending a target of 169, the GT new ball duo of Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada set the game up for the hosts with some early breakthroughs. SRH were reduced to 34-4 in the powerplay, and inflicted more damage by the pacers in the middle overs as well. <\/p>\n<p>The pair of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/player\/jason-holder\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">Jason Holder<\/a> and Prasidh Krishna were also among the wickets, and worsened SRH&#8217;s state to 83-9 in 14 overs, before spin was introduced into the attack in the form of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/player\/rashid-khan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">Rashid Khan.<\/a> The wrist spinner ended up picking the final wicket by dismissing tail-ender Praful Hinge to wrap things up. <\/p>\n<p><template id=\"also-read-articles-template\"><\/p>\n<p><\/template><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;This is such a phase in the tournament where you want those things to click that did not click before. So, when you win a 160-170 game in this way, where you bowl out the team for less than 100, then the confidence of the bowling unit is sky high. He broke the backbone of Hyderabad, and after that, they did not get a chance to recover,&#8221; he added. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>An in-form Rashid Khan has been a vital cog for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/team\/gujarat-titans\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">GT <\/a>in IPL 2026, and has completed his quota of four overs in 10 out of the 12 matches this season so far. However, the pacers&#8217; dominance kept the star spinner off the attack during the massive win for Shubman Gill and co. <\/p>\n<h2>&#8220;You did not see SRH in the game at all&#8221; &#8211; Zaheer Khan&#8217;s massive remark on GT&#8217;s stunning win in IPL 2026<\/h2>\n<p> Former India pacer Zaheer Khan suggested that, unlike other teams in the top four, who are faltering across various levels near the business end of the tournament, GT are peaking at the right time. The former champions have now won five matches in a row now, including back-to-back massive wins while successfully defending totals against RR and SRH. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;GT actually scored less than what they are capable of, but after the match, it feels it was way too much. You did not see SRH in the game at all, so this is a massive win. It is a massive achievement for the bowlers that they wreaked havoc on the batters in such a way that they made it a one-sided match. They are getting better and better this season,&#8221; Zaheer Khan said on Cricbuzz. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>GT&#8217;s dominance was on show as they never let SRH settle in the run chase.
