Whether or not quarterback Aaron Rodgers<\/a> will return to the Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a>\u00a0and when he will make his intentions public have been two of the most discussed stories of the NFL offseason.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n During the latest edition of his “Not Just Football” podcast, longtime Steelers defensive lineman\u00a0<\/span>Cameron Heyward<\/a> seemed to break some news while telling Pittsburgh fans to\u00a0<\/span>r-e-l-a-x<\/span><\/a> amid questions about Rodgers’ whereabouts.\u00a0<\/p>\n “Bro, chill out. He’ll get there when he gets there,” Heyward said about Rodgers, per Alex Kozora<\/a> of Steelers Depot. “It’s the middle of summer. If anyone knows the system better than anybody, it’s Aaron. And he’s not a big proponent into having this long training. I think he trains well on his own. He knows what his body needs at this point.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Heyward seemingly was referencing how Rodgers played under current Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy when the two were with the\u00a0<\/span>Green Bay Packers<\/a> from 2006 through much of the 2018 season. Meanwhile, Heyward has made it known<\/a> on multiple occasions this year that he wants Rodgers to run it back with the Steelers for one more campaign.<\/p>\n A previous report said that Pittsburgh players are “fully counting”<\/a> on Rodgers to re-sign with the team. Heyward’s latest comments may show that’s truly the case.\u00a0<\/p>\n Stories<\/a> claiming that Rodgers was in Pittsburgh at some point from May 8 through May 11 sparked all kinds of discussions on local sports talk programs. There was even speculation that Rodgers returned to the Steel City to celebrate Heyward’s 37th birthday.<\/p>\n “We’re grown men,” Heyward said. “We’re not celebrating birthdays together. I didn’t even have a birthday party. My agent’s calling me saying there’s multiple reports saying, ‘Is he hanging out with Cam?'”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n It was suggested<\/a> earlier this week that McCarthy “knows” when Rodgers will show up for work. As of Friday morning, outsiders were still guessing whether or not the 42-year-old will re-sign with Pittsburgh before<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>the start of OTAs this coming Monday, before the team’s mandatory minicamp begins on June 2, or sometime in between.\u00a0<\/p>\n According to Heyward, everyone should chill out and let Rodgers rejoin the Steelers on his own time.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\nCameron Heyward seems to know what Aaron Rodgers plans to do<\/h2>\n
