He opined that the GT skipper wants to prove that KKR erred in releasing him ahead of the IPL 2022 auction.<\/p>\n<p>KKR set GT a 248-run target in Match 60 of IPL 2026 in Kolkata on Saturday, May 16. Gill scored 85 runs off 49 balls in the chase, but couldn&#8217;t help his side avoid a 29-run defeat, as the visitors were restricted to 218\/4.<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9kC8_zDcJb4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">video<\/a> shared on his YouTube channel, &#8216;Aakash Chopra,&#8217; the former India batter noted that Gill invariably takes the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/team\/kolkata-knight-riders\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">KKR<\/a> bowlers to the cleaners whenever he plays against his former franchise.<\/p>\n<p><template id=\"also-read-articles-template\"><\/p>\n<p><\/template><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Shubman was outstanding. Whenever Shubman comes in front of KKR, I think he sends a reminder that they didn&#8217;t do the right thing in letting him go. At that time, I had made a video that KKR&#8217;s next captain should be Shubman Gill. However, KKR didn&#8217;t think like that, and they let him go,&#8221; Chopra said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;They let him and Suryakumar Yadav go, and then Shreyas Iyer also left. Sai Sudharsan played at the start, got injured, and then he returned. Why did he return? I was slightly surprised. He had scored 40 runs off 20 balls. When you see his total, you say runs weren&#8217;t scored after that,&#8221; he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The cricketer-turned-commentator opined that Jason Holder should have been sent to bat instead of the left-handed opener.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;They weren&#8217;t going to win the match, but shouldn&#8217;t Jason Holder have been sent? Who could have taken you closer to a win &#8211; the guy who can hit sixes. One team hit 22 sixes, and the other hit 11. That&#8217;s the difference. You can&#8217;t chase 240 runs without hitting sixes, and their best six-hitting player, who, in my opinion, is Jason Holder, lower down the order, didn&#8217;t get to bat,&#8221; Chopra explained.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Sai Sudharsan scored an unbeaten 53 off 28 balls in GT&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/go\/ipl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">IPL 2026<\/a> clash against KKR.
