Social media influencer RJ Mahvash has recently opened up about her relationship with India and Punjab Kings leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal.<\/p>\n

Among other things, she addressed the dating rumours between the two and ultimately, the reason they unfollowed each other on social media.<\/p>\n

Yuzvendra Chahal and RJ Mahvash dating rumours<\/h2>\n

The two were first seen together publicly during the Champions Trophy final in Dubai last year. Since then, the two have been seen together in public more often, especially during Chahal’s divorce proceedings with dancer\/actress Dhanashree Verma.<\/p>\n

Although the two never confirmed it, social media was abuzz with rumours of them dating, especially after Verma made allegations of infidelity against Chahal.<\/p>\n

In the past, though, both of them have denied dating and maintained they were just friends.<\/p>\n

In an interview with podcaster Raj Shamani last year, Chahal denied dating Mahvash and said that she was with him through a tough phase in his life. He also expressed his dissatisfaction about Mahvash being labelled a ‘homewrecker’ when there was nothing romantic between them.<\/p>\n

In an interview with PinkVilla, Mahvash was asked about her relationship with Chahal and how it had never progressed beyond friendship. She also said that their unfollowing each other was due to a fight rather than a breakup.<\/p>\n

“People have this habit of turning small things into a big issue. There’s no big deal about such things when you’re going through them. Two friends argued, and we unfollowed each other; that’s it. I will always wish him [Yuzvendra Chahal] all the best. We just unfollowed because of an argument; there’s no big deal in it,” said Mahvash.<\/p>\n

When asked if things between the two had progressed beyond friendship, Mahvash said that they had not.<\/p>\n

“No, there was nothing like that between us. I maintain my friendships very well. At the time, he needed a good friend by his side. As he said in his podcast interview [With Raj Shamani last year], he was suicidal as well. We tried to help him through it and tried to ensure that the IPL season went well. So, all of us stood by him as we were capable,” she continued.<\/p>\n

“Since you guys [the media] covered it so openly, you felt that we were openly dating, but for me, it was just supporting a friend,” Mahvash concluded.<\/p>\n

Yuzvendra Chahal in IPL 2026<\/h2>\n

As Mahvash mentioned, she and her friends supported Yuzvendra Chahal throughout IPL 2025, and last year, he finished as the Punjab Kings’ second-highest wicket-taker of the season.<\/p>\n

PBKS finished as runners-up in IPL 2025, and Chahal picked up 16 wickets in 14 matches at an average of 26.87 and an economy rate of 9.55.<\/p>\n

PBKS are struggling in this year’s IPL after a solid start. But Chahal is still the team’s second-highest wicket-taker this year. He has taken 10 wickets in 13 matches at an average of 36 and an economy rate of 9.72.<\/p>\n
