Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> were beaten by Chelsea<\/a> at Stamford Bridge, and this agonising relegation dogfight is going to go right down to the wire.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Trips to west London are seldom fruitful for Spurs, but Roberto De Zerbi<\/a>‘s side could not afford to conform to the normal way of things on this evening, with wretched home form now in need of being overturned on this final day of the campaign to avoid a humiliating tumble into the Championship.<\/p>\n 17th in the Premier League<\/a> for the second year running. Much needs to change down Hotspur Way this summer, and the first port of call has to be ushering Randal Kolo Muani<\/a> out the door.<\/p>\n What a disaster of a loan spell.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Kolo Muani’s hospital pass led to Andrey Santos’ second-half goal, widening Chelsea’s advantage and proving too great for Tottenham to recover from.<\/p>\n A disaster indeed. How costly could that be at the weekend? Kolo Muani has suffered in Spurs’ attack this season, unable to channel any of the form that lifted him into elite conversations in Germany and Italy and France.<\/p>\n He was unable to add to one lonely Premier League goal this term, and now, Kolo Muani surely needs to be benched for Tottenham’s final Premier League game of the season – maybe, unthinkably, their last for at least 15 months.<\/p>\n Having joined the club from Paris Saint-Germain on a season-long loan last summer, the Les Bleus star hasn’t been anywhere near the expected grade. Of course, he’s only a part of the Londoners’ wider malaise, but this was a particularly frustrating showing.<\/p>\n Kolo Muani misplaced all four of his attempted crosses, losing possession 15 times in total without creating a single chance.<\/p>\n He wasn’t the only Spurs star who flattered to deceive at Stamford Bridge, though. It’s clear that De Zerbi needs to ring the changes this summer, with Udogie’s shoddy injury record and consequent influency putting him in the firing line.<\/p>\n He was replaced by Djed Spence after 69 minutes, looking some what discomfited. Was he frustrated with his performance, or could the Italy international have fallen to more bad luck on the injury front?<\/p>\n In any case, something now needs to give. Not only did Udogie repeatedly squander possession, but he failed to complete a single dribble and didn’t creat a single chance, also committing three fouls and stifling Spurs’ build-up sequences, struggling to connect with Mathys Tel.<\/p>\n Tottenham signed Souza from Santos in January, the young left-back tipped for big things. Moreover, they are expected to explore a deal for Andy Robertson when his Liverpool contract expires this summer. Spence can also play on the left.<\/p>\n This is all to say that maybe it’s time for Spurs to cut their losses on Udogie, who hasn’t enjoyed himself for a sustained period in a Tottenham shirt for some time now, and Juventus were reported to have registered their interest<\/a> back in February.<\/p>\n Stamford Bridge is never a happy battleground for the Lilywhites, but there was an air of frustration about the travelling supporters as they trudged off home.<\/p>\n Tottenham could have got something against the Blues, and while De Zerbi will be confident that his side can avoid relegation by securing a point against Everton, he has surely got a clearer picture about what he needs to tweak this summer, with Udogie out of chances to prove his worth for this team.<\/p>\n\n Kolo Muani’s latest horrorshow for Spurs<\/strong>
