The Brisbane Bullets have continued reshaping their roster under new head coach Will Weaver, signing veteran forward Lat Mayen to a two-year deal.<\/p>\n

Mayen joins Brisbane after spending the past season with the Perth Wildcats, adding experience and defensive versatility to a Bullets squad continuing to build towards the 2026-27 campaign.<\/p>\n

The 6\u20199\u201d South Sudanese-Australian forward featured in limited minutes during his lone season in Perth, averaging a career-low 7.6 minutes per game across the year. Still, at just 27 years old, Mayen arrives in Brisbane eager for a fresh opportunity and a larger role under Weaver.<\/p>\n

Widely regarded as one of the league\u2019s stronger perimeter defenders when given consistent minutes, Mayen enjoyed the best stretch of his career during the 2023-24 season with the Cairns Taipans. During that campaign, he averaged 6.9 points and 3.5 rebounds per game while shooting an impressive 40.3 per cent from three-point range.<\/p>\n

In a club statement, Mayen said he was excited by the chance to work alongside Weaver and contribute to Brisbane\u2019s new-look roster.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m really excited for this next chapter with the Bullets,\u201d Mayen said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve had the chance to learn from different programs across my journey, and I feel hungry to keep improving and contribute to this team that coach Weaver is assembling.<\/p>\n

Weaver believes Mayen\u2019s defensive intensity and versatility will make him an important piece for the Bullets moving forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re excited to welcome Lat and his family to Brisbane. He brings a defensive mindset and plays with an edge that I know Bullets fans can get behind,\u201d Weaver said.<\/p>\n

The Bullets continue to shape their roster ahead of next season and still have three import spots available. Brisbane is also moving forward without young guard Tristan Devers, who recently committed to Washington Huskies men\u2019s basketball in the NCAA.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
