It is fair to say that not every Manchester United<\/a> supporter reacted well to the news that Harry Maguire has been omitted from the England squad for the World Cup this summer.<\/p>\n

Thomas Tuchel has left the veteran England international at home in favour of Jarrel Quansah, Dan Burn, Ezri Konsa, John Stones, and Marc Guehi, and the centre-back took to social media to tell fans he is “shocked” not to be in the squad.<\/p>\n

The 33-year-old has started 18 games in the Premier League<\/a> for the Red Devils this season, but his form was not enough to convince the Three Lions coach to take him on the plane. <\/p>\n

One player who is in the squad, though, is central midfielder Elliot Anderson, whom United are reportedly plotting talks<\/a> with Nottingham Forest to sign this summer.<\/p>\n

The Tricky Trees are said to be looking for a fee of around \u00a3100m<\/a> for the star, however, and it remains to be seen if the Red Devils can win the race for his signature.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils are said to be in advanced talks to finalise a \u00a339m deal to make the Brazilian talent Michael Carrick<\/a>‘s first official signing as the new permanent manager at Old Trafford as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

Ederson has shown an eye for goal in recent seasons, scoring 15 goals since the start of the 2023\/24 campaign, whilst Anderson has scored six goals in the Premier League since the start of last term.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old Atalanta star has shown consistent quality throughout his time in Italy, winning 54% of his ground duels and 60% of his aerial duels in the Serie A last season, whilst also scoring four goals and creating 4.83 xA. <\/p>\n

Whilst the English ace averages slightly more tackles and interceptions per game, Ederson is still a strong dueller who can make key challenges and will not shirk a physical battle.<\/p>\n
