class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His analysis is well worth reading, and here\u2019s his conclusion:<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The real conclusion from all this data is this: At least for the popular wheel sizes between 26\u2033 and 32\u2033, there is no measurable difference in performance.<\/em><\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Basically he debunks the idea that larger wheels \u201croll over stuff better\u201d when you factor in the pneumatic tires.  I\u2019m not sure he\u2019s right when it comes to <em>really <\/em>rough terrain, like what you might find on a very rocky mountain bike trail where the tire is really deforming a lot, but for most other terrain what he\u2019s saying makes sense to me. At one point I was barely moving my legs myself. On certain climbs, I topped out panting and exhausted, then realized my bike was in its hardest gear.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The Spandex-clad cyclists who tackle San Francisco\u2019s iconic Hawk Hill have a saying: \u201cThe climb doesn\u2019t get easier, you just get faster.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>That\u2019s also true of riding with battery-boosted legs. I was out of breath because I was pedaling at my regular cadence, but each stroke had a lot more power.<\/em><\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It would be ironic if this is the invention that ends up saving the non-motorized bicycle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And with that, I shall now take my leave.
