OTAs are in full swing across the NFL<\/a>, offering the first real look at how rosters are taking shape. It’s still early, and pads haven’t been put on yet, but coaches, players and media members are already buzzing about standout performers and competitions.\u00a0<\/p>\n Here are five important storylines in OTAs to monitor:<\/p>\n The Raiders’ No. 1 overall pick has been “as advertised,” according to head coach Klint Kubiak during his interview via NFL.com<\/a>. Mendoza is asking sharp questions, processing quickly and showing leadership.\u00a0<\/p>\n He’s already building chemistry with the receiving corps and looks poised to start as a rookie if needed. He’s had clips during OTAs that have trended as outsiders have compared his mechanics to Tom Brady’s. Overall, this could accelerate the rebuild.<\/p>\n New head coach Todd Monken spoke to the media<\/a> on Wednesday, and he was not happy. “We threw interceptions in 7-on-7 for God\u2019s sake. I mean, who does that?” He continued to explain that there’s no pass rush.\u00a0<\/p>\n Deshaun Watson has taken an early edge with highlight throws (including a deep touchdown<\/a> to rookie wide receiver Denzel Boston), but reps are rotating heavily among Watson, Shedeur Sanders, Dillon Gabriel, and rookie Taylen Green.
