Trent is one of a kind. It’s a real shame he no longer plays for his boyhood club, and it’s true that he has not had the most auspicious debut season in Spain with Real Madrid, but he remains a special player with elite game-changing qualities.<\/p>\n

Hall is not cut from the same cloth, but the Newcastle left-back does now join Alexander-Arnold in sitting at home and watching England in action. Many are bewildered by the snub, with Hall proving against the likes of Barcelona in the Champions League this term that he can put show-stopping performances in on knockout occasions.<\/p>\n

Hailed as having “all the attributes to become one of the best left-backs in the world<\/a>” by teammate Kieran Trippier, Hall might be at a low ebb right now, Newcastle having suffered this season and the player himself now cut from the international roster – many would say unfairly.<\/p>\n

But the 21-year-old has still put in a top campaign, winning 5.4 duels and completing 1.2 dribbles per game in the Premier League. He is an all-action defender, dynamic and enterprising on the ball.<\/p>\n

He might not have Alexander-Arnold’s natural-born brilliance as a creator, but then who does? Instead, Hall could grow into a leading Premier League star under Slot’s wing at Liverpool, maybe not seeing eye to eye with England’s head coach, but making all the difference at Anfield.<\/p>\n
