I like proving my support system right. Daryl\u2019s still the guy that drafted me, so I\u2019ll always have love for him for that. He believed in me enough to take me at No. 16.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gilgeous-Alexander, meanwhile, was the subject of savage \u201cflopper\u201d chants from the San Antonio crowd but ultimately had the last laugh.<\/p>\n<p>French star Victor Wembanyama led the San Antonio scoring with 26 points, while Devin Vassell added 20.<\/p>\n<p>Thunder coach Mark Daigneault praised his team\u2019s \u201cpoise\u201d after climbing out of an early 15-point deficit to eventually close out a convincing win by the same margin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a punch &#8212; credit to them,\u201d Daigneault said of San Antonio\u2019s fast start. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey were ready to play and they got us early. But I thought we showed great poise to understand the 48-minute nature of the game.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a long game obviously and the bench gave us a huge lift right there to help us get the game into a manageable spot.
