Ewa Pajor and Salma Paralluelo each recorded a brace in the second half to give Barcelona their fourth final win in six years.

OL Lyonnes, featuring U.S. women’s national team midfielders Lindsey Heaps, Lily Yohannes and Korbin Shrader, had the better first half but were unable to make it count on the scoresheet.

Barcelona didn’t record a shot on target until the second half, but that first accurate shot was calmly slotted past Christiane Endler by Pajor. Assisted by Patri Guijarro, Pajor scored her competition-leading tenth goal of the season ten minutes into the second half. Pajor tallied her second in the 69th minute, assisted by Paralluelo. The Polish forward finished as the competition’s leading scorer with 11 goals (two ahead of Arsenal’s Alessia Russo).

Paralluelo sealed Barcelona’s victory in stoppage time with two goals in three minutes. Pajor returned the Spaniard’s earlier favor by assisting Paralluelo’s second goal of the night.

“You get a sense of release off your shoulders, you think about everything it has cost to get this far, and you value having won it even more – and having won it the way we won it,” Barcelona head coach Pere Romeu said postgame. “Even though we pulled away on the scoreboard, it was a real team match. [Goalkeeper] Cata [Coll] saved us in a couple of situations, then we scored and we kept pushing.”

Pajor was voted the Vodafone Player of the Match. She had previously suffered defeat in her previous five final appearances with Wolfsburg and Barcelona.

“I’m grateful. This is amazing; the best day of my life. From the start to the end, it was a hard game, but we did so, so well. We fought for the win, and that’s what this team does every day, fight to be the best team in the world.”

The victory is Barcelona’s fourth title after winning the 2020/21, 2022/23 and 2023/24 campaigns. Guijarro, Aitana Bonmatí, Alexia Putellas and Caroline Graham Hansen took the pitch for Barcelona in all four of their final wins. They were in an unprecedented sixth straight final, and seventh in eight years, and their fourth against OL, who won in 2018/19 and 2021/22 before Barcelona’s 2023/24 and now 2025/26 victories. The 4-0 margin of victory equalled Barcelona’s against Chelsea in the 2021 final.

Source link

Photo Credit: Ane Frosaker / SPP FC Barcelona Feminí won their fourth UEFA Women’s Champions League trophy, scoring four goals against OL Lyonnes on Saturday in Oslo, Norway.
