The name in question is up-and-coming TNA star Leon Slater.<\/p>\n<p>Leon Slater has been performing in TNA Wrestling since 2023. The star made a huge name for himself in the promotion by winning the TNA X Division Championship. He was one day short of breaking the longest reigning TNA X Division Champion record when he lost the title against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/player\/cedric-alexander\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">Cedric Alexander<\/a> on the May 14, 2026 edition of Thursday Night Impact.<\/p>\n<p><template id=\"template__newsletter-inline-banner-form-combo-widget\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"wrapper\">\n<p><img id=\"subscribe-img\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\nThanks for the submission!\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/template><\/p>\n<p>According to several reports, Slater&#8217;s TNA contract is about to expire, and AEW is interested in signing the star. However, according to WWE legend AJ Styles, he could end up in WWE. During a Q&amp;A on a recent edition of his <em>Phenomenally Retro<\/em> podcast, Styles said that it was only a matter of time before Leon Slater joins the Stamford-based promotion.<\/p>\n<p><template id=\"also-read-articles-template\"><\/p>\n<p><\/template><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;It\u2019s only a matter of time, guys. It will be interesting to see if Slater will join the TKO-led promotion anytime soon.<\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<h2>AJ Styles wants a popular AEW star to join WWE<\/h2>\n<p>During the same edition of his <em>Phenomenally Retro<\/em> podcast, AJ Styles said that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/wwe\/news-aj-styles-wants-aew-star-join-wwe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">he wants AEW star Will Ospreay in World Wrestling Entertainment<\/a>, calling the latter an &#8220;amazing athlete.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Phenomenal One added that he believes Ospreay has figured out what works for him in pro wrestling before comparing Will&#8217;s work ethic to his own.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWill\u2019s the man, dude. I would love to have him in WWE\u2014he\u2019s an amazing talent. I think he\u2019s figured out a lot about himself, and what he can do, and what looks good and makes sense\u2014everything&#8230; Sometimes we worry about him hurting himself because he\u2019s balls to the walls, but I get it, man.
