Just when Pittsburgh Penguins<\/a> fans were coming to terms with the possibility that they may have to watch Evgeni Malkin<\/a> wear another uniform, news hits that he will be back for at least one more season.\u00a0<\/p>\n Ending the speculation before it takes over the offseason, the Penguins announced the re-signing of Malkin, 39, for one more year. Malkin’s new deal runs through the 2026-27 campaign and carries an average annual value of $5.5 million.<\/p>\n While Malkin takes a bit of a pay cut to stay in Pittsburgh \u2014 he completed his previous four-year, $24.4 million contract that he signed in July 2022 with the Penguins’ first-round playoff exit \u2014 he’s still going to be paid like a player of a high caliber going forward.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n Evgeni Malkin<\/a> only had to take a slight pay cut to return to Pittsburgh\u00a0 <\/strong><\/h2>\n
