At one stage this season, it appeared as though Everton<\/a> would be playing European football for the first time in eight years under the guidance of David Moyes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Toffees were firmly in the race for a top-eight finish back in April, but their end-of-campaign form ultimately crushed any dreams the supporters had mustered.<\/p>\n

However, a run of no wins in the final seven games of the Premier League<\/a> season saw the club end the 2025\/26 campaign in a measly 13th place – just ten points ahead of the drop zone.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s certainly a step in the right direction for the Toffees, but this summer will be a crucial period for Moyes and the club as they attempt to bring the glory days to the Hill Dickinson.<\/p>\n

Despite the transfer window not opening until early June, the recruitment team have already done their due diligence and identified numerous potential summer targets.<\/p>\n

Over the last couple of days, Everton have been linked with a plethora of talents to help push the club up the Premier League table throughout 2026\/27.<\/p>\n

Chelsea striker Liam Delap has emerged as one potential transfer target this summe<\/a>r, after failing to nail down his place as the Blues\u2019 starting number nine this term.<\/p>\n

A sale could take place this window, with a \u00a330m fee expected, but the likes of Newcastle United and Leeds United have also been touted with interest in the 23-year-old.<\/p>\n

The Englishman isn\u2019t the only player currently in the hierarchy\u2019s sights at present, with Brighton & Hove Albion winger Solly March<\/a> another player hugely admired behind the scenes.<\/p>\n

According to TEAMtalk, the Toffees have expressed an interest<\/a> in landing the 31-year-old, with the foundations being laid ahead of a potential summer move.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been reported that the Englishman is set to leave the Seagulls on a free transfer at the end of June as Fabian Hurzeler\u2019s men decided against handing the winger a new deal.<\/p>\n

TEAMtalk\u2019s article states that as many as seven top-flight teams are keen on a move for March this window, which could see a huge transfer battle unfolding in the weeks ahead.<\/p>\n

Last summer, huge excitement was generated amongst Everton supporters after the club secured the signing of Jack Grealish<\/a> on a season-long loan from Manchester City.<\/p>\n

The 30-year-old\u2019s proven quality and experience in England\u2019s top-flight made him a superb addition, with his early form on Merseyside backing up the excitement behind the deal.<\/p>\n

He registered four assists in his first three league outings for Moyes\u2019 men, but fitness issues would put an abrupt end to his success at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.<\/p>\n

Grealish suffered a broken foot back in January, which subsequently ended his season, with the Toffees missing a player of his calibre within the final third.<\/p>\n

It remains to be seen if the hierarchy will trigger his \u00a350m option to buy this summer, but other targets are now being drawn up in case a permanent deal can\u2019t be reached.<\/p>\n

March is just one player being considered by the recruitment team at present, with the Englishman able to be the manager\u2019s next version of Grealish on Merseyside.<\/p>\n

Like the Everton loanee, he\u2019s also had his injury issues in recent times, subsequently making just 19 top-flight appearances across the last three seasons.<\/p>\n

However, he\u2019s also endured huge success in the Premier League, as seen by his tally of 14 combined goals and assists during the 2022\/23 campaign – helping the Seagulls secure European football.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old, who\u2019s been dubbed \u201cphenomenal<\/a>\u201d by journalist Kathryn Batte, possesses a similar playstyle to Grealish – as he favours playing off the flank and cutting inside onto his stronger foot.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s amassed a superb goal catalogue over his time at the AMEX, with many of his efforts highlighting his ability to glide past the opposition before firing home.<\/p>\n

He also managed to create 1.7 chances per 90 for his teammates, which highlights the similar levels of creativity produced by Grealish on Merseyside this term.<\/p>\n

A deal for Grealish may still be the number one option for the fanbase, but a deal for March could offer a cheaper yet more effective alternative to Moyes in his hunt for success with the Toffees.<\/p>\n
