Manchester United<\/a> are showing a \u2018genuine interest\u2019 in signing Newcastle United<\/a> left back Lewis Hall in the summer, according to CaughtOffside<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n A new fullback on either side is potentially among United\u2019s transfer<\/a> plans for the summer, particularly due to players likely to depart as well as the shortage of quality options.<\/p>\n On the left flank, United have Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, and Patrick Dorgu to call upon, with natural right-sided operators Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui having also filled in on that side at various stages.<\/p>\n Malacia, however, is expected to depart this summer, while manager Michael Carrick has generally favoured Shaw as his first-choice option, with Dorgu frequently operating in more advanced areas.<\/p>\n There are also younger alternatives available in the form of Harry Amass and summer arrival Diego Le\u00f3n. However, both are currently regarded as longer-term projects rather than immediate first-team answers.<\/p>\n As a result, the club have begun exploring other options, including Newcastle\u2019s Hall, with CaughtOffside reporting that United have a \u2018genuine\u2019 interest in signing the former Chelsea<\/a> academy star.<\/p>\n The youngster is the Red Devils\u2019 leading option to add depth to their left back, and his qualities are well-liked by the club\u2019s director of football, Jason Wilcox, who is \u2018pushing\u2019 for the deal to be completed, according to the report.<\/p>\n With a contract at St James\u2019 Park that runs until 2029, the report adds that Newcastle are in a strong negotiating position and have no intention of sanctioning his departure, with a \u00a355m valuation placed on the 21-year-old.<\/p>\n However, United are not alone in the race, as Bayern Munich, Liverpool<\/a>, Arsenal<\/a>, and Chelsea also hold an interest in the four-cap England international, CaughtOffside<\/em> adds.<\/p>\n From a statistical standpoint, Hall ranked among the Premier League<\/a>\u2019s standout fullbacks during the recently concluded campaign for Newcastle United.<\/p>\n In possession, the England international\u2014who has earned five senior caps\u2014completed 1,075 passes with an 85.2% accuracy rate, according to FOTMOB<\/a>. He also registered 47 accurate long balls and 20 successful crosses, numbers that contributed to 25 chances being created for his teammates.<\/p>\n His defensive numbers were equally impressive.
