Fresh from losing a crucial part of their frontline, Newcastle United<\/a> have shifted their focus towards signing an impressive, young striker for Eddie Howe<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In the space of 12 months, Newcastle have lost two of their most important attacking stars. First came the departure of Alexander Isak to Liverpool last summer. He generated a record fee and it’s the Magpies who have been laughing ever since. Then, almost 12 months on, came the departure of Anthony Gordon this week as Barcelona swooped in.<\/p>\n Whilst Isak left under much criticism, however, there’s an understanding in Gordon’s case that it was the best time for both parties to go their separate ways. That was very much reflected in Howe’s statement after losing the forward.<\/p>\n “While we\u2019re disappointed to lose Anthony from our squad, we understand that this is a big opportunity for him.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n “He has been a big part of our success in recent years, and the fact that he developed into an England international during his time at Newcastle United is a testament to the hard work he invested to his development with the support from everyone at the club.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n “He leaves with our best wishes, and I am confident that he will go onto be a success, both with Barcelona and the national team at this year\u2019s World Cup.”<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n It’s now up to those at St James’ Park to find the next best thing, and that could arrive courtesy of a teenage star this summer.<\/p>\n According to Tipsbladet in Norway, Newcastle are now plotting a move to sign Mikkel Bro Hansen<\/a> from Bodo\/Glimt ahead of next season. The 17-year-old striker has also attracted interest from Manchester City and Chelsea, but the Magpies will be looking to get one over on their Premier League rivals.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n It’s easy to see why the Premier League<\/a> trio are interested in the teenage star. Bro Hansen has already made first-team appearances in Norway and earned incredibly high praise from Jacek Kulig<\/a>.<\/p>\n The talent scout went as far to call the Dane “one of Europe’s most promising strikers” and he’s already smashed records at Bodo\/Glimt by becoming their youngest-ever league goalscorer at 16 years, seven months and 18 days back in September.<\/p>\n Bro Hansen is not someone who will make an immediate impact at Newcastle. He certainly won’t be the Gordon replacement, either.
