said SD Worx-Protime in a statement. &#8220;The team has serious questions about the bicycle-weighing procedures at the Giro d&#8217;Italia Women. For example, there was a weight difference of more than 50 grams between the first and second weighing of Wiebes&#8217; bicycle after the finish of the stage in Ravenna.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"kiosq-b\">The team races on Specialized bikes, with Wiebes typically using the S-Works Tarmac SL8 \u2013 the company&#8217;s lightweight carbon frame \u2013 with Shimano Di2 components and wheels.<\/p>\n<p aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"kiosq-b\">&#8220;Wiebes has ridden this bicycle on multiple occasions this season, always with the same setup. She achieved numerous victories on this bike. Moreover, earlier this year, the bicycle was weighed by UCI officials after several races in which Wiebes won sprint finishes convincingly,&#8221; said the team statement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;On each occasion, the bicycle&#8217;s weight was found to be comfortably above the 6.8-kilogram limit. The team therefore does not understand how the very same bicycle could now suddenly be measured below the minimum weight requirement.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"kiosq-b\"><a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingnews.com\/road\/teams\/uci-womens-worldtour\/2026\/sd-worx-protime\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingnews.com\/road\/teams\/uci-womens-worldtour\/2026\/sd-worx-protime\/\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingnews.com\/road\/teams\/uci-womens-worldtour\/2026\/sd-worx-protime\/\" rel=\"noopener\">SD Worx-Protime<\/a> added that it had no explanation for why the bike was found to be under the minimum weight this time.
