Police in San Antonio said Friday that the boy was <a href=\"https:\/\/news4sanantonio.com\/news\/local\/teen-critically-injured-after-falling-from-vehicle-while-celebrating-spurs-win\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">taken to the emergency room<\/a> and in critical condition.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, the fan is not expected to survive. The San Antonio Express-News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expressnews.com\/news\/article\/spurs-honking-serious-injury-teen-car-san-antonio-22283033.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> on Saturday that the 17-year-old suffered severe head injuries and was declared brain dead.<\/p>\n<h2>San Antonio Police addressed the incident<\/h2>\n<p>Police in San Antonio said Saturday that the circumstances surrounding the boy&#8217;s fall remain under investigation. The department issued a statement urging fans to celebrate safely.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;The San Antonio Police Department extends our sympathy to the family, friends and loved ones affected by this tragic and preventable incident,&#8221; the statement read. &#8220;This serves as an important reminder that public safety is a shared responsibility.
