The New York Yankees<\/a> can’t stay healthy this season.\u00a0<\/p>\n Yankees first baseman\/designated hitter Ben Rice and starting pitcher Gerrit Cole recently returned from injuries. But now, star outfielder Aaron Judge is battling an issue.\u00a0<\/p>\n Boone told the media<\/a> Tuesday that Judge would miss a home game against the Cleveland Guardians\u00a0<\/a>because of a bone bruise in his right ribs and shoulder. He added he was scheduled to meet with a doctor on Tuesday night.\u00a0<\/p>\n “Hopefully, it’s a day-to-day situation, could be a few days, could be longer. I don’t know for sure,” Boone said. “Hopefully, he avoided something serious, but we’ll have an idea when he meets with the doctor.”\u00a0<\/p>\n Boone said he’s unsure when Judge suffered the injury, but he said the shoulder issue bothered him for weeks and became “something more” in New York’s series against the\u00a0A’s<\/a> in Sacramento this weekend.\u00a0<\/p>\n That may explain why three-time American League MVP Judge didn’t look like himself against the A’s. He batted .167\u00a0<\/a>with two hits, four RBI and two runs scored in three games.\u00a0<\/p>\n The recovery time for bone bruises can vary depending on severity, ranging from two to several months. The Yankees hope it’s the latter and not the former. Judge remains in All-Star form this season. Entering Tuesday night, he was tied for fourth in baseball in home runs (17) and tied for 15th in RBI (38).<\/p>\n The team’s offense remains potent even without Judge. Entering Tuesday, the Yankees ranked fourth in baseball in runs (305).
