Lord\u2019s is hosting its 150th Test match, and it is a record that no other cricket ground in the world has ever achieved in the traditional format of the game. The Lord\u2019s Cricket Ground is now the first stadium in the world to reach 150 Test matches, making it the most historic Test venue.<\/p>\n

Before the ongoing England vs New Zealand Test match, Lord\u2019s had already hosted 149 Tests. Out of those, 98 matches produced a result, while 51 ended in draws. In total, batters have scored 143,786 runs here, while bowlers have taken 4,627 wickets at this venue.<\/p>\n

Joe Root leads batting records at Lord\u2019s<\/h2>\n

Meanwhile, the Lord\u2019s cricket ground is also a venue where many records have been made by the legends. England\u2019s moder-era batting legend Joe Root has been the most successful modern player at this ground. He has scored more than 2,100 runs in Test matches at Lord\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Root has 8 centuries and 7 fifties to his name in Lord\u2019s Tests. He is followed by some of England\u2019s greatest batters like Graham Gooch (2015), Alastair Cook (1937), Andrew Strauss (1562), and Alec Stewart (1476), who have all scored more than others at this venue over the years.<\/p>\n

When it comes to bowling records at Lord\u2019s, legendary England fast bowler James Anderson stands at the top of the list. He has taken 129 wickets at Lord\u2019s in 29 Test matches between 2003 and 2024, making him the most successful bowler in the history of this ground.<\/p>\n

After Anderson, Stuart Broad (113) and Ian Botham (69) are next in the list of highest wicket-takers at Lord\u2019s. Among overseas bowlers, New Zealand great Richard Hadlee holds the record for the most wickets at Lord\u2019s. He took 26 wickets in just four Tests at this venue.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the match, New Zealand won the toss and invited England to bat first in the three-match Test series opener at Lord\u2019s on Thursday.<\/p>\n
