It has taken a long while to get my first Diamond League victory and I really thought it would never come with Mondo here,\u201d said double Commonwealth champion Marschall.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">\u201cWe know he will be back as he won\u2019t like being beaten \u2013 but he told me he was chuffed it was me. I can\u2019t believe it. I can\u2019t fathom that I won 40 in a row, it\u2019s pretty sick, but it\u2019s also sick that I lose in Stockholm, which is the most important competition of the year for me,\u201d Duplantis said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">\u201cThis is not the last time I will \u200close, but I \u200chope it\u2019s the \u2060last time I lose in Stockholm, I\u2019m going to make sure of \u200bthat, that it doesn\u2019t happen again. I lost at my home city, I\u2019m here in Stockholm, and I had so much family here, it\u2019s actually the worst thing that could ever happen to me.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">\u201cI haven\u2019t lost in, what, three years? But big hats off to Kurtis today, he was the better man and he beat me fair and square. I have no excuses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The last time the 26-year-old lost was at the Monaco Diamond League meeting in July 2023, when he tied for fourth and Marschall was again ahead of him, finishing third.
