Dalton Eatherly, better known online as Chud the Builder, recently claimed that jail staff took his Bible and refused to return it while he remains incarcerated at the Montgomery County Jail in Clarksville after he was arrested for allegedly shooting a man last month<\/strong>. For those uninformed, Eatherly cultivated his online platform by posting racist content. He was arrested for attempted murder for allegedly shooting Joshua Fox, a Black disabled veteran, outside the Montgomery County Courthouse on May 13.<\/p>\n On June 7, 2026, Tayler Hansen, who described himself as a field reporter on his X account, posted that Chud the Builder’s Bible was confiscated after he was released from solitary confinement. His post included a supposed statement from Eatherly, with the livestreamer alleging that the jail had replaced his Bible with a “tablet that crashes every three seconds and dies within a few hours.” <\/p>\n Chud the Builder said the device made it difficult for him to access the scriptures, and when he requested that the staff return his Bible, he was denied, with admin Capt Oakes replying in all caps, “\ud835\ude54\ud835\ude4a\ud835\ude50 \ud835\ude43\ud835\ude3c\ud835\ude51\ud835\ude40 \ud835\ude3c \ud835\ude4f\ud835\ude3c\ud835\ude3d\ud835\ude47\ud835\ude40\ud835\ude4f \ud835\ude4f\ud835\ude43\ud835\ude3c\ud835\ude4f\ud835\ude4e \ud835\ude52\ud835\ude43\ud835\ude54. \ud835\ude4e\ud835\ude4f\ud835\ude4a\ud835\ude4b \ud835\ude3c\ud835\ude4e\ud835\ude46\ud835\ude44\ud835\ude49\ud835\ude42.\u201d Eatherly<\/a> called this “unprofessional” and alleged that the Jewish man in his adjoining cell had a physical copy of the Torah, accusing the jail staff of “violating [his] right to religious freedoms.\u201d<\/p>\n “I\u2019ve asked very kindly and politely, even offering to pay whatever amount they want for a copy of the physical Bible that I for some reason had access to for weeks, but am being denied. the admin Capt Oakes is sending me ALL CAPS replies with clear frustration and vindictiveness indicating an obvious malicious interference with my religious studies,” he wrote.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Chud the Builder continued:<\/p>\n “I have had zero reports written on me and I\u2019ve been kind and polite to all staff my entire time in here. I have been getting closer to God and studying the scripture all day everyday for the last 25 days. I have no idea why they decided to take my Bible.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n This post was reshared to Chud the Builder’s official X account, with his fianc\u00e9e writing that he “gave [her] access to his X<\/a>” and that the livetreamer wanted “this reposted on his account because he wants his Bible back ASAP.”<\/p>\n Chud the Builder was arrested on May 13 after an altercation with a man outside the Montgomery County Courthouse, where he allegedly pulled a firearm and shot the victim multiple times. <\/p>\n According to CNN, the livestreamer<\/a> streamed the aftermath of the shooting and recounted the incident to his audience, alleging that he walked past a group of people \u201claughing\u201d and \u201cpointing at me” when Joshua Fox, the victim, told him to walk away, saying, \u201cI have PTSD.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHe said, \u2018You start saying all that chimp out s**t to me and \u2018Imma hit you,\u2019 and he hit me. He started whaling on me, even after I had to defend myself by shooting him,\u201d Eatherly said in the video.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n During a hearing on May 16, Dalton Eatherly’s bail was set for $1.25 million. However, it was lowered to $1 million in a subsequent hearing, and a judge refused to lower<\/a> the bail further during another hearing on June 3. <\/p>\n During the same hearing, YouTube Alex Rosen offered $100,000 towards the bond amount. However, Judge William Goodman III, who presided over the hearing, said, \u201cI\u2019m not going to let him [Alex Rosen] get into the bonding business.\u201d<\/p>\n Chud the Builder<\/a> remains incarcerated at Montgomery County Jail as of this article.<\/p>\nChud the Builder’s bond was set at $1 million<\/h2>\n
