New details have emerged after a fire incident was reported outside WWE Headquarters this past weekend. It seems to have affected many citizens in Stamford, Connecticut.<\/p>\n
Last Saturday, high winds snapped a 3,000-square-foot American flag<\/a> off the WWE Headquarters in Downtown Stamford.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \nThanks for the submission!\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/template><\/p>\n The video recorded on June 7, 2026, shows the flag flying into a power line near the Stamford Train Station and catching fire. This caused power outages across Stamford and Greenwich over the weekend.<\/p>\n Stamford Deputy Fire Chief Matthew T. Palmer said, “There\u2019s very little we could do other than monitor it and notify utility companies.”<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/template><\/p>\n Speaking to the New York Times<\/a>, Eversource spokesperson Kaitlyn Woods said that there were more than 4,000 outages in Greenwich and 2,700 in Stamford.<\/p>\n She revealed that almost 5,000 customers were left without power on Saturday, of which power was restored to 3,000 of those within 20 minutes.<\/p>\n “There are two separate transmission circuits on the structure. While our crews were working to remove the flag, it shifted and made contact with the energized line that was keeping power flowing to our customers. The outage impacted more than 20,000 of our customers in Greenwich. Our crews just safely restored one of the lines in the past few minutes, and we\u2019ll start getting the power back on soon for our customers impacted.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n On Sunday, 40,000 customers lost power while the crew was working to remove the flag.<\/p>\n “Our crews were coordinating to remove the flag when it shifted on its own and made contact with the line that caused the outage.
