Liverpool<\/a>‘s World Cup stars are well and truly off the mark after the weekend’s action and they could now be joined by a shock arrival from the tournament this summer.<\/p>\n

Alexander Isak put his injury-wrecked first season with Liverpool behind him this weekend, grabbing Sweden\u2019s second goal before seizing on a defensive mishap to provide Arsenal\u2019s Viktor Gyokeres with the third as Sweden cruised to a 5-1 win over Tunisia.<\/p>\n

Virgil van Dijk meanwhile had to settle for a draw in Netherlands’ opener against Japan, as they were pegged back twice to share the points at 2-2, but the Liverpool skipper did find the back of the net with a clinical guided header.<\/p>\n

Florian Wirtz’s Germany swept Curacao aside after an early scare, with Wirtz providing the assist for the German opener in a 7-1 win.<\/p>\n

Reds fans have also been keeping an eye on Yan Diomande – the RB Leipzig winger was awarded man of the match for his display in Ivory Coast’s 1-0 win over Ecuador.<\/p>\n

Liverpool have been linked with a \u00a3100m move for the 19 year-old<\/a>, but it appears he’s not the only star at this summer’s tournament who could be on his way to Anfield.<\/p>\n
