Happy 38th birthday to five-time MLB All-Star, two-time Cy Young winner, 2018 ERA-title winner and 2015 National League Rookie of the Year, Jacob deGrom<\/a>! <\/p>\n At his healthy peak, deGrom has been one of the most dominant pitchers of his generation. From 2015-19, he recorded four 200-strikeout seasons and in 2018 posted an MLB-best 1.70 ERA for his first of back-to-back National League Cy Young awards with the New York Mets.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n But from 2021-24, major injuries kept deGrom off the mound before and after his trade from the Mets to the Texas Rangers<\/a>. In 2025, however, it seemed the veteran was getting back to his old form. He made 30 starts \u2013 his most in a season since 2019, striking out 185 in 172 2\/3 innings and a return to the Midsummer Classic.\u00a0 <\/p>\n So far in 2026, deGrom has made 14 starts in his 13th Major League season for a Rangers team currently just behind the Mariners and Athletics in the American League West.<\/span><\/p>\n Which brings us to today\u2019s quiz.
