It explained:<\/p>\n<p><template id=\"template__newsletter-inline-banner-form-combo-widget\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"wrapper\">\n<p><img id=\"subscribe-img\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\nThanks for the submission!\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/template><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Your Petition \u2014 filed three business days before the deadline, without any supporting information or documentation, and only after abandoning your recent litigation efforts to avoid NCAA sanctions \u2014 does not provide a basis for the League to alter those plans.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><template id=\"also-read-articles-template\"><\/p>\n<p><\/template><\/p>\n<p><template id=\"bets-today-poll\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"preview-card-holder bets-today-poll\">\n<p><span class=\"date\"\/> \u2022 <span class=\"time\"\/><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/template><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The issues presented by your Petition are too significant, and too closely tied to the League&#8217;s core integrity interests, to permit meaningful review within the timeline presented.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"bottom-tagline top\" data-tab=\"top\">\n<p>Looking to predict NFL playoff Scenarios? We will be taking this matter to the NFLPA.&#8221; Kessler, of course, has been a lead outside counsel for the NFLPA for decades.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Reacting to the development, veteran NFL writer Gary Myers issued this warning to commissioner Roger Goodell on social media:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;New York attorney Jeffrey Kessler, who has been a pain in the butt to the NFL for decades, is representing Brendan Sorsby. If this results in Sorsby vs. the NFL in court &#8230; it will be worth the price of admission.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He also gave this reminder:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Kessler represented Tom Brady in Deflategate in 2015, and managed to get his four-game suspension that season reversed until the NFL won on appeal in 2016. &#8230; Troy Finnegan praised the NFL for denying the likes of him an opportunity to avoid repercussions for their offenses:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;It&#8217;s clear that Sorsby is only entering the supplemental draft to avoid the punishment that was likely coming from the NCAA. &#8230;
