Wolff said that the Italian team has been &#8220;throwing&#8221; massive upgrades at the SF-26, and claimed that his team do not have the same luxury.<\/p>\n<p>Fans anticipated seeing multiple teams, including Ferrari and Red Bull, potentially take the fight to Mercedes at this weekend&#8217;s Austrian GP. But in the end, the German team once again secured the race win with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportskeeda.com\/player\/george-russell\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-is-sponsored=\"false\">George Russell<\/a>, complemented by Kimi Antonelli in P3 to make it another double podium for the team in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>After the race, team boss Toto Wolff explained that the Silver Arrows have been working on upgrades consistently in the background, and that it was good to see them pay off at the Red Bull Ring. The 53-year-old also took a dig at rivals Ferrari, questioning if the team will hit the cost cap soon or not.<\/p>\n<p><template id=\"also-read-articles-template\"><\/p>\n<p><\/template><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;We are running hard on upgrades in the tunnel. We already have decent upgrades on paper, but we aren&#8217;t deploying them yet. We have to do it at the right time,&#8221; said Wolff [via F1 TV].<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Ferrari has been throwing things at their car massively. I guess they will run out of cost cap soon. We couldn&#8217;t do it because we don&#8217;t have the margin financially. So let&#8217;s see where it leads them.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;We made a good jump in terms of points &#8211; with a 1 and 3. Bouncing back strong after Barcelona feels good,&#8221; he added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Wolff also explained the thinking behind the strategy with both drivers, saying it was important to stay cool. The Briton won the opening race of the 2026 season in Australia, but the top step has since eluded him until now.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking in the post-race interview, Russell said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;It\u2019s incredible to be back on the top step. It\u2019s been a little while, so I\u2019m definitely going to enjoy this one this evening. A lot of hard work from my team to get us back on track.
