Walker Kessler may have only played in five games last season, he\u2019s apparently done enough for the Los Angeles Lakers<\/a> to make him their center of the future to play alongside superstar Luka Doncic.\u00a0 <\/p>\n The Lakers traded two unprotected first-round picks and two pick swaps to the Utah Jazz<\/a> for Kessler before signing him to a\u00a0 <\/span>four-year, $130 million contract extension.<\/a>\u00a0L.A. has had a busy offseason so far, already signing Austin Reaves to a max extension and letting LeBron James walk away as a free agent.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Kessler missed the vast majority of the 2025-26 campaign after surgery to repair a torn labrum, but his career is off to a promising start. The 7\u20192\u201d-center was named to the First-Team All-Rookie squad in 2022-23 after being drafted 22nd-overall. In 58 games in 2024-25, he averaged a double-double for the first time in his career with 11.1 and 12.2 rebounds-per-game to go with 2.4 blocks.\u00a0<\/p>\n But the red flag may be durability, as Kessler has yet to match the 74-game mark he set as a rookie.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Which brings us to today\u2019s quiz.
