Lezyne<\/a> just announced a brand-new model in its already large range of bike lights<\/a>, the Road Drive 500. With a unique rectangular shape and slim profile, it’s meant to integrate cleanly and seamlessly into modern road bike cockpits. And with a max output of 500 lumens and an eye-catching, disruptive flash mode, it\u2019s designed to help you be seen in the daytime and\/or see your way after the sun goes down.<\/p>\n

Road Drive 500 Details<\/h2>\n

Lezyne\u2019s new Road Drive 500 light is made specifically for road riding, with a unique shape and appearance that the brand says is intended to blend into modern cockpit setups. With rectangular dimensions the size of a credit card (54.2mm wide x 86.6mm long) and a thickness of just 12mm (17.6mm including the quarter-turn mount), this slim, sleek light is meant to be more aerodynamic than blockier competitors.\u00a0<\/p>\n

With an integrated, low-profile quarter-turn mount, the Road Drive 500 attaches cleanly and very closely to the underside of compatible out-front computer mounts. And, depending on the computer, it may even be completely hidden from the rider\u2019s view beneath it. It also comes with a GoPro-style mount that can be installed in place of the quarter-turn mount to accommodate varying setups.<\/p>\n

Similar to Lezyne\u2019s other front lights, the Road Drive 500 has a CNC-machined aluminum body for durability, impact resistance, and a somewhat industrial appearance. Across the front of the light are two powerful little LEDs and a lens that provides a \u201croad-optimized beam angle and pattern<\/em>.\u201d Those two LEDs can put out a max of 500 lumens (day flash) or 400 lumens continuously (\u201cblast\u201d mode). It has three continuous modes and three flash modes to choose from, see the chart below.<\/p>\n

The Road Drive 50 is powered by a rechargeable 1100mAh battery. According to Lezyne, that\u2019s capable of up to 90 minutes of run time at 400 lumens continuous, and a very impressive 55 hours in the 500 lumen daytime flash mode. Recharging is done via USB-C (cable not included). For those embarking on seriously long adventures, it is also compatible with Lezyne\u2019s Infinite Light Power Pack XL+. The brand also states that it has been rigorously tested and is rated IPX7 for waterproofness. <\/p>\n
