\u201cYou don\u2019t have it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Grella, who represented Leeds, Swindon Town, Bury and Scunthorpe during his playing days, compared Australia\u2019s football aspirations to his own.<\/p>\n
\u201cI wanted to play in the Premier League,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI wanted to play in the Champions League.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut I never did.<\/p>\n
\u201cSame with Australia. They wanted to accomplish something in the World Cup, but with the emotions, and in their own head.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn reality, when the whistle blows and the game starts, you have to be able to go with the football.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re nowhere near good enough with the football.<\/p>\n
\u201cDid they fight? Yes.<\/p>\n
\u201cDid they do their country proud? One hundred per cent.<\/p>\n
\u201cShould the country be proud of what they did? For sure.<\/p>\n
\u201cDid they fight to the end? For sure.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut in the end, you need to be able to know how to play with the football. There\u2019s levels to it, and they don\u2019t have the high level to it with the football.<\/p>\n
