After choosing to bat first, Abhishek Sharma and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi were off to a breezy start as the latter was dismissed for 14 runs off 10 deliveries and failed to convert his start into a big score on his T20I debut. Abhishek Sharma played a fine knock of 43 runs off 24 balls, smacking 8 fours and one six.<\/p>\n

Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan built a partnership of 65 off 42 deliveries as Iyer was dismissed after scoring 37 off 22 deliveries. The Southpaw looked good, but he failed to convert it into a big score and never got going, out on 49 off 40 deliveries. Tilak Varma\u2019s fiery 24 off 11 deliveries helped the Men in Blue score 190\/7 in their 20 overs.<\/p>\n

Jacob Bethell the hero for England<\/h2>\n

India had a dream start as Arshdeep Singh dismissed both the openers, Jos Buttler and Phil Salt, for a duck. A counter-attack from Harry Brook made things a bit easy for the home side as he played a knock of 38 off 14 deliveries before Axar Patel picked his wicket and achieved the milestone of 100 T20I wickets.<\/p>\n

Tom Banton and Jacob Bethell stitched a 67-run partnership, which was yet again broken by Arshdeep, who dismissed the former on 39 runs. Jacob Bethell played an unbeaten knock of 76 runs off 46 balls, smashing 5 fours and as many sixes, and sealed the game for the side with one over to spare. Ravi Bishnoi’s 29-over spell from the other end changed the course of the match.<\/p>\n

Jacob Bethell was credited by captain Harry Brook for his exceptional innings and winning POTM<\/a>. He took his time and settled in at the wicket, which was a bit tricky, and now finished the game off for the home team. He credited Harry Brook\u2019s knock and also mentioned Banton\u2019s crucial contribution.<\/p>\n

“Yeah, I think, it worked out well in the end, but just going into bat two down, Brooky (Harry Brook), set the tone really well there. He flipped the momentum straight back on them. And, that made it easier for me to go out there and just give him strike to start and then it’s a shame when he got out.”<\/p>\n

“But I thought Banton came in and that partnership we built, both of us would have liked to go on and finish that. But everyone just keep chipping in. And then, yeah, in those kind of chases, you’re not going rapid the whole time, but a couple of big overs and then the game swings. So, yeah, it was one of them that just kind of got timed really well.”<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
