Flavio Cobolli recreated Brazil<\/a> forward Matheus Cunha’s celebration after watching the FIFA World Cup. He did the surfboard celebration after beating Karen Khachanov in the Third Round of Wimbledon on Saturday, July 4.<\/p>\n Cunha’s surfboard celebration has become popular since he introduced it a few months ago. He has also scored thrice at the ongoing FIFA World Cup. Not only did he do the surfboard celebration all three times, but his teammates joined him as well.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \nThanks for the submission!\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/template><\/p>\n On Saturday, Flavio Cobolli did the celebration on Centre Court at Wimbledon<\/a> after beating Khachanov in five sets in Round 3. When asked about it in his post-match interview, he said:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/template><\/p>\n \u201cNo, no. It was a bet with my coach. We are watching the World Cup and this is the Brazilian striker that I love to repeat. It\u2019s three days that I forgot to do this. This kind of celebration. But today I couldn\u2019t forget.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Cunha also responded to Cobolli in the comments of Wimbledon’s Instagram post<\/a> about the celebration, writing:<\/p>\n “Love that @flavio_cobbo<\/a> \ud83c\udfc4\ud83c\udffe\u200d\u2642\ufe0f\ud83d\ude1c\ud83c\udde7\ud83c\uddf7”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Cobolli found himself two sets down, 6-0, 7(7)-6(4) against Khachanov on Saturday. However, he won the third set 7(7)-6(5) after a hard-fought tiebreaker. He then won the last two sets 6-2, 6-2 to secure a place in the Round of 16, where he will face Alex de Minaur. <\/p>\n Le Selecao beat Japan 2-1 in the FIFA World Cup<\/a> Round of 32 in Houston on June 29. After the game, Cunha was seen flaunting their five FIFA World Cup trophies by showing five fingers to Kento Shiogai. The Japanese forward had claimed before the match that “Brazil is no longer a football powerhouse.” <\/p>\n After Cunha’s gesture led to some controversy, he provided a clarification, telling the reporters (h\/t WION<\/a><\/em>):<\/p>\n “With all due respect, to have a Japanese player saying that about such a victorious national team-man, if it is a Brazilian talking about Brazilians, we might even accept it. But coming from outsiders, I think we stand together against anyone. So, it is more about what this shirt represents, who has worn this shirt before us, and everything we went through to be wearing it today.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Le Selecao, meanwhile, have reached the Round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup.
