Summary of the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup Final<\/h2>\n

Australia invited England to bat first after the toss. The Lord’s pitch was fresh enough to help the bowlers in the first innings of the match; the Aussies knew that very well.<\/p>\n

They kept pressuring the hosts with the team ball from the beginning of the first innings. Falling into a trap, both of the England Women’s team openers lost their scalps early in the innings, which came as a massive blow for the Three Lions.<\/p>\n

Skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt’s unbeaten 58 and another unbeaten 44 from Freya Kemp helped England to register 150 runs in the first innings<\/a>. Considering the early conditions of the pitch, the total was decent, but not enough to create a barrier between the Aussies and the trophy.<\/p>\n

Beth Mooney’s explosive 64-run knock from 49 balls set the tone for the run chase in the second innings. She was joined by Phoebe Litchfield, who presented a well-composed 48-run knock from 34 balls. <\/span><\/p>\n

The 100-run partnership between these two batters took the momentum completely away from England in the final of the tournament. Australia won the 2026 Women’s T20 WC by 7 wickets and with 17 balls to spare.<\/span><\/p>\n
