Mexico versus England at the Estadio Azteca promised to be an all-time World Cup thriller.<\/p>\n
It lived up to the hype.<\/p>\n
Jude Bellingham scored twice in 99 seconds in the first half, and then Julian Quinones cut the deficit in half before the halftime interval for El Tri. <\/p>\n
It was a manic opening half. Somehow, things went to another level after the break.<\/p>\n
Jarell Quansah was sent off in the 54th minute following a VAR review for a studs-up tackle.<\/p>\n
Six minutes later, Harry Kane scored from the penalty spot to give England some breathing room, but the England captain then conceded a penalty at the other end in the 69th minute, and Raul Jimenez answered with a spot-kick of his own to complete a breathless opening 20 minutes to the half.<\/p>\n
The Azteca was absolutely rocking, but England held on with heroic late defending for a memorable 3-2 win after more than 12 minutes of second-half stoppage time.<\/p>\n
