There are speculations that all doors for Sanju Samson\u2019s comeback have been closed as the Indian team management has taken a heavy bet on the emerging opener, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.<\/p>\n

On July 7, Cricbuzz shared a report that can shift some of the perspectives about Sanju\u2019s possible future with the India National Cricket Team.<\/p>\n

The report claims, quoting a BCCI source, \u201cSanju Samson still very much part of selectors’ long-term strategy. Why does the report make sense?<\/h2>\n

The claims make sense as the Indian team management has been trying out multiple emerging talents, who either did well in the IPL or in domestic cricket, across formats. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is not the only batter who has impressed the selectors and is now a part of the squad of the T20I squad and the teams for the other two formats as well.<\/p>\n

Suryansh Shedge, Ravi Bishnoi, and Prince Yadav are among the notable names who have been picked for the T20 International cricket. For the Zimbabwe series, the selectors have named a bunch of other emerging players who were impressive in the previous edition of the Indian Premier League with their respective franchises.<\/p>\n

Harsh Dubey, Yash Thakur, Ashok Sharma, Prabhsimran Singh, and even Mayank Yadav are named for the upcoming T20I series against Zimbabwe. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has a clear intention to offer opportunities to the candidates who performed well in the recent past.<\/p>\n

Like Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Abhishek Sharma, and Sanju Samson, Prabhsimran Singh is also a designated opener who played for the India A cricket team and with the Punjab Kings in the IPL.<\/p>\n

An increased number of players can help the BCCI in monitoring players’ workload management<\/h2>\n

Across the departments of a playing combination, which contains regular top-order batters, middle-order batters, all-rounders, spinners, and pacers, a team can be more competitive with increased competition.<\/p>\n

In modern cricket, because of the increasing number of matches, workload management has become a serious topic for discussion among the team officials. As the Men in Blue play a lot of T20I matches within a very limited amount of time, players’ physical fitness and mental conditions are also kept under the scanner.
