Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to field first as India made a couple of changes in the fifth and final T20I match. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who made his debut in the 2nd game of the series, was dropped<\/a> just after playing three games; Sanju Samson was brought back into the side, and Suryansh Shedge made his first appearance in this series, with Washington Sundar left out.<\/p>\n

After being asked to bat first, England were off to a breezy start, but Phil Salt went back early, with Prasidh Krishna getting the breakthrough; after that, Harry Brook and Jos Buttler went on a carnage as they brought fifty in no time. Brook second joint-fastest T20I 50 vs India in terms of balls.<\/p>\n

The English skipper brought up his fifty off 19 balls; soon, Buttler scored a half-century off 34 balls. They both have been in tremendous form as the India bowlers had no answers; Harry Brook was dropped on the score of three runs; Shivam Dube completely misjudged and failed to take the catch.<\/p>\n

Harry Brook, after scoring his fifty, went on a carnage as he now has the most runs in a bilateral T20I series against India, surpassing Nicholas Pooran\u2019s 184 in the three-match series in India in 2022. He achieved the milestone during the first innings in the 12.4th over when he took a single and went on to 56 runs.<\/p>\n

Harry Brook has scored 219* runs as he has been closing in on a hundred. The English captain is currently batting on an unbeaten score of 85 runs. He and Buttler have now scored the record partnership vs India in T20Is, as they have now a 201* run partnership against the Men in Blue side. <\/p>\n

Jos Buttler scores a hundred<\/h2>\n

Jos Buttler has now scored a hundred in the match in 51 balls, and this was his 2nd T20I hundred. Buttler has been in decent form before coming to this match, and he stepped up big in the final game and showcased his class. <\/p>\n

England are currently on the score of 210\/1 at the end of 16 overs; with four more overs to play and wickets in hand, they would be eyeing a massive total, and the Men in Blue have to chase a massive total and possibly make a record run chase in this game. <\/p>\n

Brook during the toss said, “We would have had a bat, so pretty happy. (What is today about?) Well, we’ve got a little bit of an aim. If we win today, we go to world number one. So that’s the back of our mind. But the same as what we’ve done all series really, is adapt well to the surface and good communication.” <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
