Sign up now!!!<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>FIFA chairman acted alone in Folarin Balogun ban decision<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The controversy surrounding Folarin Balogun\u2019s World Cup suspension has taken another dramatic twist, with reports claiming the decision to freeze the USA striker\u2019s automatic ban was made solely by the chairman of FIFA\u2019s disciplinary committee, and without the involvement of the panel\u2019s other 17 members.<\/p>\n<p>Mohammad Al-Kamali of the United Arab Emirates reportedly made the ruling <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.com\/sport\/football\/world-cup\/article\/folarin-balogun-ban-world-cup-usa-25z8bfjg3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according to The Times<\/a>, despite it breaking from previous World Cup disciplinary precedent, where players shown a red card automatically serve a suspension. <\/p>\n<p>The revelation has intensified scrutiny of FIFA and the integrity of its disciplinary process.<\/p>\n<p>Balogun was initially handed a one-match suspension after being sent off for serious foul play, an offence that typically carries a two-match ban. All I did was ask for a review, I didn\u2019t say you have to do this.
